Happy 4th of July

We had a great day celebrating at home this year with just our family. This was the first time doing fireworks at our house, and what a great view we had to watch everyone else's fireworks after doing our own. Jerome had to go to work, so we cancelled going to a 4th of July party that we would have to leave from before it got dark. We quickly stopped at the market for our own bbq fixings and bought some fireworks. Jackson and Jordan both loved all the fireworks and enjoyed the sparklers the best. We all didn't go to sleep until after 11 because our neighbors put on their own "million dollar" illegal firework show that rattled our windows! It was definitely a night to remember!
Watching all the fireworks from the roof of our car!
The only festive thing I did this year...chocolate covered strawberries

Summer Fun at Reunion Trails

Our Summer Fun group met up even though it was a holiday. We tried the new Reunion Trails park in Henderson and it was so fun. All the new modern equipment was fun for the kids to play on. The splash pads were over-the-top!
After playing we went to the mall with the Ginnetts and the Stewarts for lunch at Red Robin. The kids were hungry after playing so their food was gone in a flash...which meant dessert at Auntie Anne's. What a great day.

Getting Ready

Our surprise gender baby will at least have a cute and cozy area to come home to in a couple months. Since we don't know what we are having, we chose a gender neutral design that could go for both. I am not a fan of the yellows and greens so I found this gray and white that was perfect. The baby will be in our room for the first few months and our master bedroom is huge..so everything fits perfectly. Can't wait until we have a new little baby in this crib.

Pizza Making

Our Wednesday Summer Fun play date was at Melanie's house. Jackson and Jordan love to visit Mayson, and it was a bonus that other friends would be there and we would be making pizzas. Not only did we have pizza for lunch, but we had dessert pizzas made with fruit after. Yum!

Summer Fun at the Splash Pads

We started our first Summer Play date at the Pebble Park splash pads. Jackson and Jordan had a great time meeting up with all of their friends to play and get wet. We saw all the new babies and got to meet up with friends we haven't seen in a long time. Looking forward to many more of these play dates over the summer.

New Play Yard

Shawn and Luis called and said they were coming to Vegas for the weekend...and bringing the play yard with them! This play yard was bought for Derek and Dylan right after my dad passed away, and was a gift from grandma (my mom). It is amazing and is neat to know it can be passed down after Derek and Dylan used it for over 10 years. Luis and the boys re-stained it and got it ready for Jackson and Jordan. We didn't tell the kids they were coming, so when the play yard showed up, it was the best surprise ever. We are loving having this in our back yard and Jackson and Jordan love playing on it with all their friends. Thanks Auntie Shawn, Uncle Luis, Derek, and Dylan!
Of course, Luis can't leave the yard looking bare...off to Home Depot we went for a few palm trees and plants. Our yard is finally coming together!

Jordan Goes to School

Jordan started a preschool readiness class to get her ready for school...and to get her into something by herself without Jackson always being there. It is on Monday mornings for thirty minutes. She thinks she is such a big girl walking in alone (even though we are waiting right outside. Her teacher is Ms. Kayla and Jordan loves her. She has been able to do all of the tasks asked of her and Ms. Kayla says she goes above and beyond what is expected. So far she can sing the alphabet, count to 20, knows her shapes (square, circle, and triangle), and knows her colors. Daddy also works with her everyday to teach her her full name, address, and birthday. The best news is that she is potty trained. It has been so nice not buying diapers these past couple of months. We are so proud of you Jordan!
