New Play Yard

Shawn and Luis called and said they were coming to Vegas for the weekend...and bringing the play yard with them! This play yard was bought for Derek and Dylan right after my dad passed away, and was a gift from grandma (my mom). It is amazing and is neat to know it can be passed down after Derek and Dylan used it for over 10 years. Luis and the boys re-stained it and got it ready for Jackson and Jordan. We didn't tell the kids they were coming, so when the play yard showed up, it was the best surprise ever. We are loving having this in our back yard and Jackson and Jordan love playing on it with all their friends. Thanks Auntie Shawn, Uncle Luis, Derek, and Dylan!
Of course, Luis can't leave the yard looking bare...off to Home Depot we went for a few palm trees and plants. Our yard is finally coming together!

Jordan Goes to School

Jordan started a preschool readiness class to get her ready for school...and to get her into something by herself without Jackson always being there. It is on Monday mornings for thirty minutes. She thinks she is such a big girl walking in alone (even though we are waiting right outside. Her teacher is Ms. Kayla and Jordan loves her. She has been able to do all of the tasks asked of her and Ms. Kayla says she goes above and beyond what is expected. So far she can sing the alphabet, count to 20, knows her shapes (square, circle, and triangle), and knows her colors. Daddy also works with her everyday to teach her her full name, address, and birthday. The best news is that she is potty trained. It has been so nice not buying diapers these past couple of months. We are so proud of you Jordan!

May Birthday Parties

Jackson is very social at school and has been invited to more birthday parties this year than any little boy I have ever known. All the little girls from his class love to play with him...and sometimes give him a little too much attention. Here are a few parties from May that we have all been to. Of course, Jordan is invited too and loves all his friends.

Cobra Soccer Party

Jackson's first soccer season has come to an end. They ended the season undefeated and Jackson had a great experience. Coach Tiffany was so positive each week and he looked forward to going to practice with her. They ended the season with a Chuck E Cheese party and were all given trophies. Jackson is so proud of his trophy and is sad soccer is over. We hope to join Coach Tiffany again next year.

Jackson's Preschool Promotion

Jackson had his Preschool Promotion from Ms. Bridget's class. He has had a great first year at school and has learned so much. Even though he was the youngest in the class (and may be in preschool for 2 more years), he mastered all the required standards. His progress report was perfect!
Some things Jackson can do: - Recite his full name - Tell you his full birthday (month, day, and year) - Knows his address and how to dial 911 - Can sing and say his ABCs and also identify all letters - Knows how to identify and count up to 100 - Has learned how to read using whole language and mastered the pre-primer sight words. - Knows all his shapes and colors (his favorite is aquamarine) - He loves skipping, hopping on one foot, riding bikes, and running - Can stand in a line, wait his turn, and shares unbelievably well at school (home is a different story) We are so proud of you Jackson and all that you have accomplished this year!

Jackson Gets His Gie

Jackson earned his gie for karate and we are so proud of him! He has worked hard to earn it (he had to make it through 8 weeks of paying attention) during karate class, and he did it. With his gie, he seems to be more focused and really taking a love for karate...actually we can't get him to stop "kiaing" at all.

Happy Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day..although everyday is really Mother's Day around here. Today though is a day that Jerome makes it ALL about me! Flowers are always waiting for me when I wake up and the kids came parading in each with a bouquet and card. My favorite meal is breakfast, so when it comes to choosing, I always pick the Rio buffet. How can one resist every breakfast item imaginable, followed by lunch stuff and dessert. We shopped for a little while after and then came home for naps. The only bad thing about the buffet is your are still so full by the time dinner comes around, we didn't make it to the Cheesecake Factory. Chipotle still hit the spot at 9:00 p.m.
