2 Months Old!

Wow, time is going by quick! Taylor is two months old and growing up way too fast. At 2 months old, her days are spent mostly sleeping. She has a few waking hours during the day to smile at her brother and sister. She loves to eat, although is not enjoying being on a bottle during the day while I am back at work. Jerome tries and she will take just enough to not be hungry, but as soon as I get home, she only wants her mama! Taylor is following Jackson's footsteps with her height and weight. She is in the 90-95th percentile for her height at almost 24 inches and in the greater than 95 percentile for her weight at 13 pounds 15 ounces. Taylor and I had a great afternoon by ourselves at the doctor until I found out she was getting shots! Poor baby girl, I thought we had another month. I felt horrible and sad that Jerome wasn't with us. The doctor gave me Tylenol to give her and then she got three shots in those chunky thighs. She survived and only cried for a minute.

1 Month Old

I really cannot believe that my baby is 1 month old today. I feel like I just got home from the hospital a few days ago. Taylor is an amazing baby. She is very mellow and loves to snuggle...maybe a little too much. We might have a spoiled baby on our hands. With so much going on in her first month and so many visitors, she has taking a serious liking to being held. She will wake up or stir when put down and of course that leads to someone running to her rescue. Jackson is a wonderful big brother. He makes sure she is happy all the time, constantly kissing and talking to her, and loves to snuggle with "Sugar Bear whenever she can. Jordan loves her too but would much rather play dress-up or get her nails done. She is starting to come over to Taylor on her own and visit with her. Taylor goes back to the doctor on the 22nd, but at her last appointment 1 week ago she is already over 10 pounds. Dr. Hyun was very proud of her and could tell she was a great eater. Taylor is nursing every two hours, even if she is not hungry..she will act like she is so she can snuggle and then just fall asleep. We have gotten some amazing smiles (see below) and she is making great eye contact. Speaking of eyes... THEY ARE STILL BLUE! I know they will change, but I am loving them right now! We love you Taylor and can't believe it has been a month already!

Last night with Nana!

Sylvia has been with us the past three weeks and is heading back to Boston in the morning. We are so glad she was able to come right after Taylor's birth and she was a big help with Jackson and Jordan. We are sad to see her go but know she will be back soon.

Imagination Movers

Friday night fun! We went to the Disney show Imagination Movers with the Ginnetts and Westwoods. The weather cooled off just enough to enjoy the amphitheater and good friends. We met for dinner at Red Robin and then enjoyed dancing and singing the night away. It was a great show!

Jackson's Safari Party

Jackson has an obsession for animals so we decided the most perfect birthday party would be a safari party. Knowing that we would have a new baby right around the time of the party, it was definitely going to be less elaborate than some of his other parties. We brought in a zoo from Moapa called Roos and More and they were wonderful. Jackson chose to have a bird, monkey, lemur, kangaroo, snake, and armadillo. They put on a show for over an hour. Some of the kids lost interest pretty quick as the zoo keeper let each child hold and take pictures with each animal, but Jackson loved it ( that's what's important). We had lunch, did cake, and that was the party. We had a great day with family and friends. Nana Sylvia was here from Boston, Grandma Cheryl and Aunt Lynda drove over from California, and Auntie Inga flew in from California for a quick trip.
Our attempt at a family picture. I hired a photographer for this party, so I know Sarah got a much better shot. Can't wait to see her work!
We did a popcorn bar this year instead of candy. It was so fun and Inga and I had the best time sampling all the flavors at "The Popcorn Girl."
Once again, Carrie made our cake and it is my new favorite! It was exactly how I wanted it and of course it tasted amazing!

The Stork Came to Visit

With Jackson and Jordan Jerome had a stork delivered to our house for a week. Of course he did the same for Taylor. There is just something special driving up to the house and seeing that every time. Thanks love!

Big Brother, Big Sister

Because delivery was so fast, Jackson and Jordan were able to come pretty quick after the birth to meet Taylor. Natalie was supposed to come for the birth, but it happened even too quick for us to get her here, so she made sure to be there and the Big Brother and Big Sister walked in the room. They were both so excited to meet Taylor and Jackson shocked us all with how attentive and sweet he was.
Opening their gifts from Taylor!

SHE is here!

Taylor Jean Sequeira arrived at 8:19 a.m. on September 12, 2012. We are so excited to welcome a new little girl into our family. Here is her story... The night of September 11th was pretty routine. We added in an extra play date with the Bateman's after school and because it was so late, picked up Jack in the Box on the was home. I was tired but feeling great. Jackson and Jordan went to bed around 9:00 p.m. and I decided to paint the baseboards. Looking back, this should have been a sign. I went to bed around midnight only to be woken up at 3:45 a.m. At first I was embarrassed thinking I may have wet the bed. Getting up to go change, I realized that my water definitely broke. Jerome was at work so I called him, but told him not to rush home as I was not having any contractions. I called my mom (twice) to wake her up and get her on the road to Vegas. I took a shower while waiting for Jerome, called Rebecca to come over, and made sure everything was ready for Jackson and Jordan (getting out meals, snacks, their routine for the day, etc.). Contractions were slowly starting and just in time as Rebecca and Jerome got to the house. We left for the hospital at 5:30 a.m. and got there before 6:00. It was packed. The triage room was beyond crowded, which means less time for nurses to check on us. Within 45 minutes, I went from calm and happy to 2 minute apart contractions and needing a nurse. I am sure they thought I was being dramatic and poor Jerome...I didn't want him to leave my side, yet he couldn't touch me without getting yelled at. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. I made him get the nurse. She finally came over and checked me. Then things got moving! She realized I was already at an 8 and she had help to get me moved to a delivery room. Most people walk or a wheeled by a wheel chair, we went in the whole bed. Later I found out it was because she could see the head. After being informed there was no time for an epidural or any pain meds,I panicked. I am so not that mom that needs to have a natural delivery. Because I was not on any meds, I was able to get up and go to the bathroom quick when we got to the room. Within 10 minutes, my doctor arrived. After 9 pushes and the most intense delivery, SHE was here! Jerome told me she was a girl, but I think we were both relived the pain was over and everyone was healthy and happy. Meet Taylor Jean! Taylor was a name we loved and Jean is after my paternal grandmother that passed away this year.

Happy 4th of July

We had a great day celebrating at home this year with just our family. This was the first time doing fireworks at our house, and what a great view we had to watch everyone else's fireworks after doing our own. Jerome had to go to work, so we cancelled going to a 4th of July party that we would have to leave from before it got dark. We quickly stopped at the market for our own bbq fixings and bought some fireworks. Jackson and Jordan both loved all the fireworks and enjoyed the sparklers the best. We all didn't go to sleep until after 11 because our neighbors put on their own "million dollar" illegal firework show that rattled our windows! It was definitely a night to remember!
Watching all the fireworks from the roof of our car!
The only festive thing I did this year...chocolate covered strawberries

Summer Fun at Reunion Trails

Our Summer Fun group met up even though it was a holiday. We tried the new Reunion Trails park in Henderson and it was so fun. All the new modern equipment was fun for the kids to play on. The splash pads were over-the-top!
After playing we went to the mall with the Ginnetts and the Stewarts for lunch at Red Robin. The kids were hungry after playing so their food was gone in a flash...which meant dessert at Auntie Anne's. What a great day.
