Tidepools

One of the memories I have from being in a kid is going to the tide pools. They used to be full of sea life and I loved climbing on the rocks. This was the first time we took Jackson to experience them. The weather was a little chilly but I wanted us to wear pants anyway to save our legs in case we fell. I took Jackson out first and we found lots of crabs, a few fish, and his favorite...the little hermit crabs. He liked putting them on his hand and waiting for them to crawl around.

There was a huge (dead) sea hare on the rocks that we got to look at. I took a picture to show my class for next years ocean unit, but it was neat.

After climbing through the tide pools Jackson was ready to hit the waves. No time to change, he was ready to run in. Oh well, we had a great time so it was worth getting soaking wet.

Grandma braved it up and took Jackson in the waves too.

Orange County Fair

This is the "unhealthy" favorite place of mine. This was both Jackson and Jordan's first time at the fair and they loved it. When we first got there Jackson saw the elephants. I wasn't sure if he was ready to ride one but we decided to try once we found out we could get a refund if he screamed. I was more worried about the elephant going crazy (too many episodes watched of "When Animals Attack") but Jackson loved the ride.

After the elephants we went to the kiddie area to ride some rides. Jerome rode some rides with him and then we switched. I took Jackson on a small slide which he kept saying "more, more."

Jordan enjoyed riding around in the front of the stroller and watching all the people.

As we were getting ready to leave the fair we saw the Super Slide. There was no way Jackson would like it. It was so high up. And the catch was...he had the walk the steep walk up all on his own. I wasn't allowed to carry him. Well, as you can see, he did it...TWICE. We will be going again next Wednesday and I will try to have my sister take better pictures.

After a long night, we took a group pic with the Paters and Inga. I love how the little boys are looking at us like we are crazy.

Girls Night In

The "Starlettes" got together for a dinner over at Heather's house. This doesn't happen very often and we were still missing a few people, but we had a blast. We have all been friends since at least high school and even though we live far away, whenever we get together our friendship just keeps going like we were never apart.

My good friend Amy was here from the east coast with her family and we haven't seen them in a while.

Heather made a wonderful dinner and creme brule for dessert. Yum!

Tanaka Farms

Ok, so this was one of my favorite things ever! My mom has been on vacation all week so we have been trying to do everything we possibly can with the kids. We took them to Tanaka Farms because they do these "Watermelon Tours" on a tractor. Tanaka Farms is near the house and is an all organic farm. We rushed to get ready do we could go on the 10:30 tour, before it got too hot. Not really knowing what to expect, I just hoped Jackson would like the tractor ride if nothing else. We loaded up the tractor and they took us to all the different areas of the farm. The best part....we got to sample fruits and vegetables straight out of the ground. First stop...green beans, tomatoes, and sweet corn.

After that we tried some carrots. Jordan just cut her first tooth so she enjoyed gnawing on one too.

We unloaded the tractor at one point to get out and sample different squashes, cucumbers, and of course...WATERMELON.

Did you know there is yellow watermelon? It is amazing and so much sweeter than red watermelon believe it or not!

Needless to say when the tour ended there was no need to go get lunch. Our bellies were stuffed full of fruits and veggies. I stocked up on a bunch too and came home and made Jordan quite a bit of baby food. I wish they had this place in Vegas!

Jump N Jammin'

Our friends told us about this great place Jackson could run around and Jordan could play. It is down in south county so we decided to try it. Wow! Talk about reliving your childhood. We had a blast running around in all the play equipment. They had a huge foam area where you could have a "war" using foam...too fun. Jackson jumped in the counce houses and went down the slides. He has no fear. Jordan hung out in the baby area playing with little tumbling mats. Grandma kept her company.

Lagoon Fun

The weekend was hot, hot, hot. Not like Las Vegas but it was definitely warm for Southern California. We met the Paters at the Lagoon for some swimming fun and lunch. Jackson had a great time playing with Zander and he enjoyed the water slides. Inga joined us for some swimming too and took Jordan in the water. She loves swimming as much as her brother. The boys discovered barbecue chips during lunch and almost ate the entire bag on their own. They even shared. Too cute.

Concert in the Park

The weather has been amazing here so what better way to spend our time than outdoors. Jennifer, Will, and William invited us over to their neighborhood for a Concert in the Park. The kids had a lot of fun listening to the music and running around. William and Jordan loved playing on the blanket and Jackson shared cookies with them. Yikes! Jordan had her first little taste of an Oreo cookie that night.

California Time!!!

As soon as school let out for summer we packed up the car as quick as possible and headed to California. We are not sure how long we are staying (hopefully we get good news about the new house) but in meantime we are doing everything we possibly can. What we realized we were missing out on in Las Vegas when we got to California was GRANDMA! She is so helpful with the kids and offered to babysit. We took advantage the second night we were here to go meet up with friends. We had a great time but we realized we were old and uncool when it was 11:30 and we were ready to go home.

Town Square

The kids and I met up for a play date with Melanie and Mayson and Dawn and Rylee yesterday at Town Square. Despite the 108 heat, Jackson and Rylee had a blast cooling off in the splash pads. They loved when the water would splash up and Jackson would just run through it. Mayson and Jordan didn't enjoy the heat so much. After playing for an hour we went to Yogurtland for my favorite treat...who needs lunch on such a hot day? From there we cruised over to Old Navy to cool off. We had a great day but until it cools down a little, our play dates will be moved to a pool or indoors.

Jackson Loves to Help

Jackson loves having Jordan in the bath with him as long as he can get to all his toys. His new favorite thing to do is to help wash her hair. This is not Jordan's favorite activity! Jackson dumps the entire thing of water over her along with smacking her with the container. She never cries but the expression on her face says it all. Poor girl!

Hello???

I am thinking that this might be an indication that I talk on the phone too much in the car. Jackson always needs "his" cell phone when we go somewhere and as soon as my phone rings, he answers with "hello, hi." I was able to get a few pictures while Jerome was driving and Jackson was on the phone.

4th of July

This year we were invited to a barbeque and fireworks at the Jeziorski house. We had a great time watching fireworks and eating way too much food. Both Jackson and Jordan loved all the attention although Jackson was not a fan of the fireworks. They were a little too noisy for him. On the way home, we stopped to see the Benavidez family and watch more fireworks. Both kids were exhausted by the time we got home.

We Love Each Other...For Now!

I was able to snap some cute pictures of the kids this morning while they were watching Blue's Clues. Jackson went right over to Jordan to sit and watch. I love mornings like these.

Playdates and Wedding Dresses

Jordan and I had a girls day together with Melanie and Mayson at David's Bridal. Melanie tried on some beautiful dresses while the kids played on the floor. They are both learning how to share and play with other babies. Too cute! After we walked over to Great Harvest for a slice of bread and then went to Joann's to be crafty. Thanks for a fun day Melanie and Mayson!

Happy 6 Months!

Jordan turned 6 months on June 29th. Of course we took her to get her monthly pictures done, but she had an outfit change this time. My friend Melanie made Jordan the cutest tutu ever...so I had to add some pearls and huge flower headband to complete the look. The pictures turned out great. These are just a few of her before the photographer came.

Moving on Up

Jordan had her first experience with a sippy cup this month. She did a great job and loved holding it with two hands. She has also started eat rice crackers and cut up fruit in her "net pacifier."
