The First Bath...Together

Jackson and Jordan gave me a run for my money last night and I tried to use my super-mommy powers to keep everything running smoothly. Jordan was eating her rice cereal...which now turns into a full on spitting session and Jackson ate a frozen gogurt (explanation not needed). Needless to say both kids were a MESS. Jerome was grocery shopping so I grabbed the kids and headed upstairs. I could lock Jackson in the bathroom with us to get Jordan in the bath without him getting the whole house sticky. I put Jordan in the bath seat for the first time and Jackson thought this was pretty fun. We had a successful "first bath" together and both kids loved playing.

Thomas Anyone?

My sister was so nice and gave Jackson a huge Thomas collection that Derek and Dylan had when they were younger. We waited to pull all the trains out until he was interested in them. Up until this past month, he would play with them now and then, but would get frustrated with the track or when they wouldn't connect. Now he is Thomas OBSESSED! Thomas is in his hands morning, noon, and night. He eats with Thomas, drives Thomas all over Jordan, and makes sure Thomas is always with us. I love watching his mind work as he connects the magnetic trains and thinks of ways to put the track together. Thomas anyone?

Chuck E Cheese

This weekend, Las Vegas played a trick on us and was actually cool and windy after being in the 90s all week. We tried playing outside in the morning but it was just too cold for them. Jackson has endless amounts of energy, so what better way for him to run it off than indoors at Chuck E Cheese. He loved it! He rode every ride in there and loved playing the games. His favorite part was seeing all the new kids and watching what they do.

This was Jordan's first trip to Chuck E Cheese and of course she slept through all of it. After about an hour we were ready to go. As soon as we were in the car to go home, Jackson was asleep instantly. Our plan for energy burning worked!

Too Big, Too Fast

Jordan has been eating rice cereal for the past month and a half but it has been in her bouncy seat. Well, the other day I put her in Jackson's high chair just to try and convince myself that she is too little still to sit in her own. Wrong!!! I couldn't believe it! She just sat right up in there ready to eat. Time is going by too quickly with two kids. So this week we will either be purchasing a new high chair for Jordan or getting a new kitchen table and have Jackson use a booster seat (the one we have right now is a tall pub table and would be too tall for Jackson).

Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat

Jackson has been fascinated with tigers for the last couple months so we have taken him to the zoo in California and to see the lions at the MGM. Well thanks to Teacher Appreciation Week, the Mirage finally cut us a break and our family was able to get into Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat for $15.00. What a deal!!! We saw the dolphins first and Jackson loved them...finally something he gets from me. We stayed at the dolphin pool for quite awhile and then took Jackson to the underwater viewing area. I don't know who liked who more. Jackson and the dolphins became fast friends and "hung out" for almost a half an hour. When we left the dolphin area (after a lovely high pitched, screaming at the top of your lungs tantrum) we showed him the tigers. He liked them but lost interest really quick because they just slept the whole time. After we go to a new place, Jackson gets a souvenir each time to remember where we have been. I was convinced he was going to pick a tiger toy since he kept repeating "tiger" as we went into the gift shop. Nope, we now have a light up dolphin toy that is so cool. We ate a quick lunch on the strip and are definitely booking a stay at the Mirage in the near future just so we can use their pool.

Friday Night Gardening

Tonight was a beautiful night in Vegas so Jackson and I headed outside to cut back some of our bushes and water the flowers. I tried to keep "his" watering under control by giving him his own watering can. He quickly discovered he could dump out the water much faster by flipping it all the way over..and of course, why not try to drink it?

Jackson saw me using the hose and after nicely asking "Have some, please." I couldn't resist. That was the funniest thing ever! He was attacking the hose trying to get a drink, breaking briefly to water the flowers. By the end of our gardening session the plants were taken care of and I had a wonderful night with my baby boy.

Mother's Day Weekend

This Mother's Day was wonderful. Jerome had family here from Boston and California so we spent all day Saturday up on the strip. Jackson loved watching all the people and Jordan loved all the kisses from the family. On Sunday morning I woke up to beautiful flowers and breakfast. I even got a nap. We went to the mall in the afternoon and had a great dinner at Red Robin..my favorite.

Jackson reading!!!

Jackson is still learning how to talk at 19 months old, but believe it or not he can READ! We ordered "Your Baby Can Read" when he was 6 months old and he loves it. He can read about 30 words and loves to show off.

Just getting started

Okay, so this is my first attempt at this whole blogging thing. Some of my friends do it and I think it is really a neat way to share our busy life with family and friends. I am going to attempt to blog once a week...we will see if I can keep that up. As of today, we are currently still living in our cozy house in Las Vegas. Jackson is 19 months and Jordan is 4 months.
